From August 5, 2019, an international bank account number (IBAN), which consists of 29 alphanumeric characters, is introduced in Ukraine. Banks will open new IBAN customers' accounts and will (before October 31, 2019) change their "old" account numbers in accordance with the requirements of this standard, while retaining the active analytical account number.
The use of the IBAN from November 1, 2019 will be mandatory for clients of all Ukrainian banks when making transfers in both national and foreign currencies, in particular during transboundary transfers. That is, all transfers from November 1, 2019 will only be made using the IBAN.
In the period from August 5 to October 31, 2019, bank customers in the requisites of payment documents will be able to indicate both the "old" account number and bank code as well as the account number in the IBAN standard.
